Showing books by Wilhelm Busch
Showing 1 of 1 books
A gem of a book in very good condition: the pages are tight and unmarked, the binding is firm, and the teal linen boards are clean and well preserved. The boards are stamped in gold with a facsimile of Busch's signature on the front cover, with the title in decorative Gothic lettering on the spine. Wilhelm Busch Album: Humoristischer Hausschatz (Humorous Home Treasury) is published by Frederick Ungar Publishing Co., New York, as a Jubiläums-Ausgabe (Jubilee Edition) featuring 1,500 illustrations. The text is entirely in German and typeset in Fraktur, the historic blackletter script once ubiquitous in German printing. Wilhelm Busch (1832–1908) was one of the most influential German humorists and illustrators of the nineteenth century, widely regarded as a pioneer of the modern comic strip. This album collects his best-loved works, including Die fromme Helene, Plisch und Plum, and Tobias Knopp, among others. This copy is available to international customers through AbeBooks.com, as Kathrin's Books currently ships within Canada only.
