    England

A first printing hardcover edition in fine condition. Blue cloth boards are clean, square, and unmarked, with white lettering to the spine. Pages are clean, crisp and bright throughout. The dust jacket is clean, flat, and unmarked. The binding is tight and the book lies flat with no cracking. A fine copy, complete with like-new dust jacket. Nancy Vale's Knitwear was first published in Great Britain by Macdonald & Co Ltd in 1983. This is the first Ballantine Books edition (New York, October 1987), issued simultaneously in Canada by Random House of Canada Limited, Toronto, and printed and bound in Japan by Dai Nippon Printing Co. The book draws together over 35 hand-knitting designs for women and men from Nancy Vale's Knitwear magazine series, arranged across four sections: Timeless Classics, Country Casuals, Sporting Specials, and Collectible Cottons. Nancy Vale was an influential British knitwear designer who helped bring Fair Isle and classic handknit patterns to a wide international audience through her magazines and books. The title has been out of print for decades and is actively sought by knitters and fibre arts collectors; copies in this condition with the dust jacket present are rarely offered.
