Edith Holden was an English artist, illustrator, and art teacher, trained at the Birmingham School of Art, who kept this illustrated nature diary in 1906 while living in Warwickshire. Recording the British countryside through the seasons in careful handwritten prose, favourite poems, personal reflections, and exquisite watercolour paintings of flora and fauna, the diary lay undiscovered for over 70 years until it was brought to publication by Holden's great-niece, Rowena Stott. Its 1977 publication was one of the publishing sensations of the century. ISBN 0 7181 1581 3. Ships from Canada. International orders welcome through AbeBooks.
