Elephants Can Remember is a Hercule Poirot mystery novel by Agatha Christie, first published in 1972. It was one of the last novels she wrote featuring her famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot. The story follows Poirot and his friend, crime novelist Ariadne Oliver, as they investigate a cold case involving the mysterious deaths of General Alistair and Margaret Ravenscroft. The couple had apparently died in a murder-suicide, but the truth remains uncertain. As Poirot and Ariadne interview people who knew the Ravenscrofts, they find that memories can be unreliable but, like elephants, some people never forget.
