This charming gift edition, Race Point Publishing, New York, an imprint of Quarto Publishing Group USA, first printing 2014, in very good condition.The boards are covered in a printed pattern of flowers in green and grey on a soft pink ground, with a cream panel label to the front board carrying the title and author name. The book includes a classic frontispiece illustration by the celebrated American illustrator Jesse Wilcox Smith. Pages are clean and unmarked throughout. The binding is firm and tight. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, the American novelist born in Pennsylvania in 1832 and most closely associated with Concord, Massachusetts, where she grew up in the circle of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. First published in 1868, the novel follows the four March sisters — Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. A classic of American literature.
